New Friends

Fun, cold run with my Dash and friends this morning. We got a head start and ran 6 miles by ourselves first and then met and walked with our new Vizsla buddy and friends 🙌🏃‍♀️🍂🐾! Dash runs fast 💨 in the cold just like her momma🤗.

I always run at her pace. It was a new route on Trinity Trails and will do it again. Hope to run again with our new friends!Have a great weekend and keep on running!!

Self-Care

I listened to a great podcast on my way to work on self-care from Michael Hyatt! Self-care is a good discipline we all should do. Practicing good self-care by sleeping enough, eating well, and engaging in meaningful hobbies and relationships gives us more energy to perform well, more edge to be creative, and more endurance for sustainable health and success.

3 Ways to Unlock the Benefits of Self-Care:

🙌 Make a commitment to taking good care of yourself.

🙌 Set hard boundaries around your workday and weekends to protect your margin.

🙌 Set a goal of sleeping eight hours a night.

Have a great week and keep working on your fitness💪🏃‍♀️!!

I’ll Miss You Team Keller

Cycle Class Cycle Class

My mileage is picking up. I ran 18 miles yesterday and it was a tough one. Eddie and I had a date night with another couple friend of mine. We went to see my favorite artist, Lindsey Stirling in concert Friday night. I had bought these tickets a while back and didn’t tell Eddie about it until this month. He’s never heard of her before, but agreed to go with me. I have listened to her music during my long runs and have her music on many of my playlist I use to teach my cycle class. It was such a great time and she puts on a great show. I didn’t go to bed until past midnight and woke up at 6:00 a.m. and starting running by 7:00 a.m.   The temperature was in the 80’s and I was very tired, but told myself this run wasn’t going to be about speed. It’s go to be about drinking more water and going slower just to finish. My second half was a lot slower than first half because the temperature got hotter and I was running with sun on my face. I tried to stay in the shade as much as I could. I filled my water bottle once to stay hydrated. My final time was 2:34:20 at 8:34 pace per mile. I was fine with that cause I listened to my body.

On Sunday, I taught my last cycle for L.A. Fitness on Sundays in Keller. It was bittersweet, but Eddie is wanting me to spend more time with family on the weekends now that I have a new job. I understood, cause family will always come first in my life. I’ll never forget my club Sunday cycle club members. That class was never huge due to the time being when a lot of people go to church. However, the ones that did show up were the dedicated ones who wake up early to work on their fitness with me. They have no idea how much they inspired and pushed me to work harder too. They were part of my marathon training and for that, I’m grateful. I did let my club members know that I will be able to sub from time to time so, that it’s not goodbye forever :). I will miss them for I have been teaching that class for about four years. I will continue to teach my cycle classes on Tuesday/Thursdays at the downtown location. Cycle has really helped me prevent injuries with my running and my endurance is great.   I will not ever stop doing cycle as part of my cross-training days as long as I’m running marathons!
